Products

Three product lines, printed and converted under one roof.

ACM offset-prints and coats the metal it converts, then forms it into finished closures in the same plant. One specification and one audit trail run from incoming sheet to finished pallet.

Aluminium ROPP caps

Roll-on pilfer-proof closures for glass. The thread is formed onto the bottle neck by the capping head rather than pre-formed, which is what produces both the seal and the tamper-evident band. ACM supplies them in a full colour range with a PVC-free liner.

5-score caps carry five blade cuts on the security ring, so the ring releases with the cap when it is opened. No-score caps have no blade cutting, so the security ring stays on the bottle neck. Both are produced to the same shell.

Full dimensional drawings with tolerances, capping head settings, liner profile, test data and pallet configuration are issued with every order and are available beforehand on request.

Crown caps

Twenty-one crimp crowns on tin-free steel, decorated in-house to the brand owner's artwork. A crown has to hold pressure for the life of the product and give way cleanly when the consumer opens it. Every crown ACM produces is inspected before dispatch, not sampled.

Pry-off crowns are removed with an opener. Twist-off crowns are removed by hand and need a matching neck finish on the bottle, so the neck standard should be confirmed before artwork is committed. ACM produces both from the same line.
ACM is qualified to produce crowns carrying the artwork of international beverage brands, which requires approval under each brand owner's supplier programme before a single cap can be shipped.

Full dimensional drawings with tolerances, capping specification, liner profile, test data and pallet configuration are issued with every order and are available beforehand on request.

Decorated aluminium and tin-free steel closures produced from ACM printed metal sheet

Printed metal sheet

Offset printing and lacquering on aluminium, tinplate and tin-free steel. The same press that decorates ACM's own closures prints sheet for customers who convert it themselves, so a converter buys from a decorator that also runs a conversion line and knows what the sheet has to survive downstream.

Capability
Maximum sheet size45 × 38 in
PrintingIn-house multi-colour offset printing
Coating lineSeparate, with two LTG ovens
SubstratesAluminium, tinplate, tin-free steel
Ink and lacquer systemsVinyl, acrylic, polyester, epoxy
Supply formatPrinted sheet, or finished closures
Printed sheet is also supplied to customers who convert it themselves. Crowns on TFS, pilfer-proof on aluminium, twist-off on tinplate and lacquered tinplate for food containers are all produced from the same press.

Coating build-up, ink systems and sheet layout are specified against the intended conversion process and end use. Send the application and we will confirm the specification.
