Quality control

Total customer satisfaction is our first priority.

ACM is a firm driven by the commitment to total customer satisfaction. That commitment is enforced by a certified food safety management system and a complete quality control laboratory operating on the production floor. Every job is tested against seal, torque, thickness and corrosion criteria before it is released.

Operational excellence, measured rather than claimed.

Responsiveness is not a word for us, it is our corporate culture. Our commitment does not end when a cap leaves the press. It ends when your finished goods are on your loading dock, on time and to specification. The quality system behind that promise is certified to ISO 22000 for food safety and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety and audited by the international brand owners we supply.

Every line has its own release criteria.

Every product ACM produces is inspected before dispatch, not sampled. Aluminium ROPP caps are released on sealing pressure and opening torque, tested after capping under production conditions. Crown caps are released on corrosion resistance, coating durability and abrasion. Printed metal sheet is released on gauge, coating weight and print against the approved proof. Incoming material is gauge-verified on every delivery, whichever line it feeds.

Laboratory

More than 33 tests across the three product lines.

Nine examples of what the laboratory measures and the instrument that measures it. The full test schedule for a given product is issued with its specification.

01Secure seal test (SST)Measures sealing pressure in PSI on aluminium caps.
02Spring torque testerMeasures opening torque so the consumer experience is repeatable.
03Capping machineApplies caps under production conditions to validate seal and torque together.
04Copper sulphate testConfirms corrosion resistance on Crown caps.
05MicrometerVerifies material thickness on every incoming gauge.
06Scratch resistance scaleTests varnish durability on printed surfaces.
07Tumbling scaleMeasures weight loss on Crown caps under abrasion.
08Digital weighing scaleControls material application rates for every job.
09MicroscopeInspects surface and edge detail beyond what the eye can resolve.
